I forgot to lust/pot on my kill attempt, so it's very doable for most people imo. Probably the most static challenge of all, barely any RNG to handle, pretty much a snooze fest. It was the challenges and many things to pay attention at once that fucked me over on several of these.Īrms: 25 attempts. It didn't take me 50 tries to learn how to play retri, I played it well enough on 2nd try. But yeah showed that playing most specs 'okay' doesn't take much. Somewhat learned few specs I had no knowledge about, though no doubt I won't hold onto this knowledge if the next time I play them 2 years from now. Difficulty was pretty much perfect for me, at times thinking I can't do it, but eventually being barely capable. So far away from the 36/36 that I'm happy, it wasn't really something I could've done, given I have no experience playing like 20 specs anyway. So I probably did 500ish tries overall on all of them, got 6 class mogs, felbear and the mount. I may have had 40 wipes, but timewise those took about the same as 20 wipes on other challenges. Once you got that under control, rest of it wasn't too bad. I liked this one, because first phase was by far the hardest part of it. I've only healed with rsham and hpriest so it was obvious I should go with rsham. The "fix" to make Raest move was SUPER fucked up and made the fight so much harder than it was on videos. Took me a bit over 100 wipes to get it, again including 0.5% wipe. Tried with affli, killed Karem twice so I guess I was somewhat close to it, but just thought maybe MM would be better. I don't think either event is that difficult, but I just can't focus on 3 things at once. Both times, I just couldn't keep up with it whenever 3 things were happening simultaneously. Included "this is impossible" 20% wipes, a 0.5% wipe before the kill. Naturally went to arms next, having heard it was among easier ones for Xylem, and I could use the same crusa weapon still. Took 5 tries as I didn't understand anything, anyway it was the easiest challenge for sure, with crusa anyway. I heard of crusa being good, so I got two of those for fury. Was not sure at all if I could do the mount at that point. I think during first week I beat guardian with like 150 tries. Well, some minor nerfs did come but not as much as I thought. Admittedly some of the harder ones, but I just stopped playing, thinking nerfs will inevitably come. One day in, I tried holy priest, rsham and guardian. Originally I thought, I'll obv get the mount, then maybe if it's ezpz I'll see if the 36/36 thing would be doable. I really hope Blizz makes more content like this in the future. It got me to resub after burning out early in SL, and it's very satisfying to be able to complete a true difficult solo challenge. Personally, I think the timewalking mage tower is some of the best content wow has had in years. Although it would have been nice to get all the class transmogs, I went with the path of least resistance and finished everything with just four classes (druid, war, hunter, mage). I got the spelltome mount and fel werebear form, so I'm pretty happy. If you're still grinding out attempts and trying to finish before the tower closes its doors, what are you working on and/or struggling with? For those who participated, how did you do? Did you reach your goal of completing it on X class, getting the mount, or (for the insane) getting the tower overwhelming achievement? The mage tower will be going away this Tuesday, and it won't be returning for many months.
